Esther Walton is the beloved grandmother of all the Walton children, wife to Zebulon Walton, and mother to John Walton. She has great strength and determination, and is loved by everybody of Walton's Mountain. She was excellently played by Ellen Corby. And in Season 5, Ellen Corby had a stroke. But the writers of the show decided to incorporate that into the show, with Grandma having a stroke too. Grandma came back home in Season 6, using a cane and unable to speak very much. Her determination is something to be admired in everyone.
